Working Group on Training
|
Focus of the Group
GoB and donors reviewed the current criteria for selection of
candidates to receive foreign funded training. Three categories of
criteria for donor funded foreign training activities were
identified:
i) relevance of the training to work,
ii) competence
of the candidate; and
iii) assurance of continuity of the trainee
within the specific project.
The Working Group on training addressed the following five main
concerns:
i) selection criteria,
ii) consistency with project
objectives,
iii) continuity after training,
iv) gender balance and
v) travel logistics.
Process and Outcome
Four meetings were held within the period of 3rd of March to 6th
of July, 2003.
The group produced a final report with detailed guidelines for
foreign assisted training in Bangladesh, which is currently under
review by the ERD (see Documentation).
In parallel, a new Public Administration Training Policy, which
refers to all training of civil servants, was adopted on May 12th
(see ‘Public Administration Training Policy’ in Documentation).
