On 17 February 2004, the bill on the Independent Anti-Corruption Commission of Bangladesh was passed by Parliament. The bill has been underway since September 2003, when it was first introduced (see Media for more information on this).
The next step in the setting up of the IACC is the GoB’s appointment of a selection committee, which is responsible for proposing candidates for the position as commissioners to serve the new agency. This step was taken on 10 May 2004. The commission is therefore expected to be manned within the near future.
This site intends to provide latest updates and host relevant information on the evolution of the IACC of Bangladesh.
